Available in our Jersey clinic, a Reiki treatment involves the laying on of hands onto or just above the body in a series of set patterns. A gentle yet powerful life force energy will flow through the hands of the practitioner to the person being treated.
Reiki treats the whole person, emotionally, mentally, physically and spiritually and has many benefits that include, relaxation, calming, feelings of peace, sense of wholeness and an overall sense of wellbeing.

> How does Reiki work?
Life force flows within the physical body through pathways called chakras, meridians and nadis. It also flows around us in a field of energy called the aura. Life force nourishes the organs and cells of the body, supporting them in their vital functions. When this flow of life force is disrupted, it causes diminished function in one or more of the organs and tissues of the physical body.
The life force is responsive to thoughts and feelings. It becomes disrupted when we accept, either consciously or unconsciously, negative thoughts or feelings about ourselves. These negative thoughts and feelings attach themselves to the energy field and cause a disruption in the flow of life force. This diminishes the vital function of the organs and cells of the physical body.
Reiki heals by flowing through the affected parts of the energy field and charging them with positive energy. It raises the vibratory level of the energy field in and around the physical body where the negative thoughts and feelings are attached. This causes the negative energy to break apart and fall away. In so doing, Reiki clears, straightens and heals the energy pathways, thus allowing the life force to flow in a healthy and natural way.
> How long will my appointments last?
The appointments will be 1 hour.
> What can I expect from a Reiki session?
During a Reiki session you will usually be required to lie down, but treatments can also be given while you are seated or even standing. You will remain fully clothed while I place my hands on or near your body in a series of hand positions. These include positions around the head and shoulders, the stomach, and feet. Other, more specific positions may be used based on the specific requirements or ailments. I will tune into the body and listen to what it has to say and then move the hands accordingly. Each position is held for a duration of time depending on how much Reiki you require at each position.
Each person can react to Reiki in a different way. Feelings of deep relaxation are usually felt by all. As the Reiki energy encourages you to let go of all tension, anxiety, fear or other negative feelings, a state of peace and wellbeing is experienced. Some people find instant relief from their symptoms. Some people see colours and images, while others report floating outside their bodies or having visions. At the end of the treatment, you will feel refreshed with a more positive, balanced outlook.
After Reiki, sometimes the body can go into a detoxification process. The toxins that have been stored in the body will be released into the blood stream to be filtered by the liver and kidneys and removed. Drinking water is recommended to help flush out those toxins. This is the way the body is cleansing itself and it’s all part of the healing process.
> How many sessions will I need?
Since everyone is unique, the number of sessions needed to resolve any particular condition varies widely. You may find that one sessions is sufficient, however if you have been experiencing emotional issues for quite some time a series of sessions may be required.
